Great for emergencies.

We live rurally on a winding and hilly two lane country road, plus our driveway has quite a bit of a slope. Members of my family have missed work multiple times during bad winter weather due to not being able to get a car out of our driveway even when the roads weren't that bad. These should take care of that issue for us.
These seem to be good quality and durable chains. They are somewhat heavy for me but my husband is able to handle them just fine. It does take more than a minute to get them on the tires, but it was only maybe five minutes the first time. After a few times to get some practice he'll be able to cut it down to a minute. The tensioner is super handy because it automatically tightens the chains to a secure fit without having to make manual adjustments. They do make noise but it's not terribly loud.
I like that they come with a pair of gloves that we'll keep stored with the chains so he doesn't have to hunt any down when using them. Good instructions are included plus you can scan the case to watch a tutorial video which is helpful. We will be storing these in our car but will be looking for a case that's a little more heavy duty than the one supplied.
These are a fair value for the price, peace of mind, and functionality. I would order again.

These are good chains as far as I can tell. These are my first chains to own, being that I am in the South and have never had to navigate the winter life of the North.
However, I thought that they might help us not be stranded during the one snow and ice event we've been getting each year. Last year, we had a huge-to-us winter storm that put down ice and then 10-12" of snow, and stranded us at home for 10 days before we could leave without getting stuck. Our driveway is gravel on an incline, where you back up the incline out of our driveway, then drive up another incline on a shared driveway (easement), then down an incline on our paved neighborhood road. We don't have 4x4 vehicles and so our vehicles just sit and spin tires or slide sideways and then spin tires. Snow chains may be our solution.
I watched the tutorial video and it seems easy enough to put on and take off. We may practice it a few times before February gets here, when we actually get snow. They seem good quality, but won't be able to test it until the future.

Great set to have in your car in winter

In my last two vehicles I have had sets of tire-chains like these. One set I never needed and one set I did. If you have seen those videos of cars sliding down an icy hill, you can see why these are important. I got these for a new car I am driving. I will always have a set in my car in winter. These are one of those items its better to have and not need than need and not have. I test fit these to one wheel and the installation was fairly strait forward. The fit on my tires, using the size chart was good. I don't know how durable these will be for an extended period. They make seasonal tire chains, which these are not. If you want something that will be durable and last a season these are not the chains you want. These are more for an icy road situation where you need to get home. These do give good traction on icy roads, so they are worth having. These are not very heavy, they store away in the included case without using much trunk space. These are a good value for the price.

I got these to have on hand for Chevy Sonic that we recently acquired. They seems like they will do the job but also don't seem very heavy duty but I could be wrong. We shall see how they perform once the snow gets here.

Quick to install, come in a compact case, easy to keep in the car for winter emergencies

This is a set of auto tensioning tire chains. The kit contains chains for two wheels, which should be sufficient for most situations, but if you drive an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle, you might want to get 2 sets.
I ordered model xm-130, suitable for the 18" wheels my van uses. I own another set of similar chains for my truck, so I'm familiar with how they work. Although the chains are from totally different brands, they attach exactly the same way. The main difference is that the chains for my truck are noticeably beefier. That said, I don't see any issues with these slightly smaller gauge chains. All the links appear to be welded shut and while perhaps not "expedition" quality, these chains should get you moving without any problems.
I recommend watching some videos on the installation of this type of chains. The big advantage of this style is that you don't have to roll the car over them (difficult when the car is stuck!). You simply drape them around the wheel. The video attached to the listing shows most of the installation steps, but it is not very detailed.
I also really suggest a practice installation in dry conditions - you don't want to fumble with these when your car is stuck.
The chains are most effective on hard packed frozen snow and on the ice. If the snow is deep, the chains will not be all that helpful. It's still late October, so obviously I cannot test how effective this particular kit is, but it compares well to my older set and I know how that kit is effective - it saved me from an expensive tow last year.
Overall, my impressions are pretty good. With a bit of practice the chains install easily, the sizing table is spot on and the fit on my winter wheels is perfect and they take just a little bit of space in my trunk. A good kit to keep around during winter.
