I'm conflicted on how to rate these. I guess I'll start with the pros. - They're actually metal - they're chains to help with grip - They do install on the tires. And well, that's about it. The cons? - This is a "set" of 2. You get 2 tire chains. That's it. Not 4. Most cars are all-wheel-drive now-a-days, so apart from the fact they likely won't need the chains - if they do, only having them on 2 wheels will offset the car. - The price - again, this is a set of 2. For the price, I'd expect a set of 4. - The image in deceiving. It shows the tires on rims. Using chains on a tire with anything other than steel, winter rims will scratch and damage them - The weight. These are extremely heavy for someone smaller. Pulling them into the house, my partner had a decent amount of difficulty. - The sizing method. They've got some weird sizing method. X80, X90, etc. They don't just go off a basic rim/tire size like everything else out there. They make their own sizing guide. While they do provide the guide in the images, if you're not looking through the images it's much easier to make a mistake. - These took more than 1 min to install. - These aren't even legal in my area. I understand that realistically the seller caters to all of Canada, but there's no warnings or anything else to indicate these may not be permitted in certain areas. Be sure to check your local by-laws and laws before purchasing.
Very handy accessory to keep in my trunk for heavy Ontario winter conditions. I have a Hyundai hatchback (veloster) so I went with the XM90 size as it fits my 225/45/R17 tire size. The chains came in a really convenient plastic carrying containy with a nice handle making them really easy to store in trunk for emergencies. I put them on my front 2 wheels as my car is front wheel drive only and I need most of grip there is snowy conditions where grip starts to give. I've never installed chains on tires before, but during my test run it took about 10 minutes to get a hang of the right setup, and got them on successfully. The auto tensioner tool provided with the kit is a really nice binus as it makes the entire setup easier and requires less work. Really looking forward to using these in heavy winter downfalls especially in a little hatchback, if I get caught in a bad storm.
The snow chains are easy to use and adjust when putting on. I haven’t had to use in the snow yet, but installing them was a piece of cake. They come in a case as well which I appreciate for storing in my car. The chart provided made it easy to figure out what size I needed for our smaller SUV. The side of the tires should have corresponding numbers to the chart. Which makes it easy to find the ones you need for your tire size. I’m excited for snowboarding season this year! These are always great to have just in case they require them on the roads. They seem nice quality and I will update if anything changes with use.
Wanna know how to prevent large snow fall totals? Get a set of snow chains and be prepared. Now I won't need them. They are thick and feel sturdy. It's only October in Pennsylvania so I obviously haven't tested them yet. My husband has tested to make sure they will fit my subaru tires. He says they will work fine. I doubt I'll get them on in 1 minute without lots of practice but even if it takes me awhile at least I'll get home from work.
I wanted a set of the XM-130's for my SUV (my tires are 235/65R17). There are a couple of features and important limitations to be aware of with these. My primary use for these will be as emergency equipment. These chains are not meant for use over 50Km/hr. I will be using these for very short distances on extremely icy roads at low speed (i.e. after freezing rain), for getting myself out of the ditch if needed, or possibly on and off the lake for the occasional ice fishing trip. I do like how these are installed, especially the fact that you do not have to move the vehicle to complete the installation (this would be very helpful if hitting the ditch and needing the extra traction to get out). The instructions are relatively simple to follow, and installation does take less than a minute/tire (see video). The tensioning mechanism uses a quite powerful spring, but the housing is plastic. Hopefully that will will not be a weak point. If your vehicle is AWD you will require two sets of these. Do not use a single pair on a AWD vehicle - it will likely cause very expensive damage quite quickly. These chains are also not what I would call \"low-profile\", but they are not as large as some sets I have seen. It is advised to look in your manual about what type of chains you can use on your vehicle. I do like that these come with a case, but it is very light weight. The case does serve as a storage container when not in use, and gives you somewhere to put them if you had to use them that will keep the rest of your gear from getting dirty (until you clean and hang them to dry). Not the cheapest option available, but these appear to be quite well made. The SUV these are in has Mountain/Snowflake (All Weather) tires, so hopefully I will never need them, but I will be very happy to have them onboard if they are needed. I do recommend practicing putting them on and off so you aren't stuck in an emergency trying to figure it out. Once you have done it once or twice though they really are very simple to deploy.
We bought a new Model Y Juniper that we plan to use for skiing trips this winter and wanted to have some tire chains — just in case. The car has 255/45R19 tires, and we ordered the \"Snow-Chains Auto Fixing 1 Min Quick Fit Easy Installation Tire-Chains, Christmas Gifts for Safety, Universal Emergency Tire Traction Chain for Passenger Car and SUV - Set of 2 (XM-140)\" based on that tire size. Here’s what we found: • The chains fit well on our tires. • There’s a QR code on the package that links to an installation video — a helpful touch. • Before installing, make sure the chain is laid out flat and not twisted; otherwise, it’s nearly impossible to mount correctly. • Once positioned properly, the installation is easy, and the retracting cable mechanism keeps everything tight and secure. • One concern: on our tire size, the chain contacts the rim/hubcap, which could cause damage over time. It would be nice if they included some protective non-maring rim protectors between the chain and the rim/hubcap. • The overall build quality feels solid, though the plastic housing on the retracting mechanism might be a weak point. Overall: A good-quality, easy-to-install emergency chain set, but be cautious about rim clearance — I’ll be keeping mine for emergency use only.

These are good chains as far as I can tell. These are my first chains to own, being that I am in the South and have never had to navigate the winter life of the North. However, I thought that they might help us not be stranded during the one snow and ice event we've been getting each year. Last year, we had a huge-to-us winter storm that put down ice and then 10-12\" of snow, and stranded us at home for 10 days before we could leave without getting stuck. Our driveway is gravel on an incline, where you back up the incline out of our driveway, then drive up another incline on a shared driveway (easement), then down an incline on our paved neighborhood road. We don't have 4x4 vehicles and so our vehicles just sit and spin tires or slide sideways and then spin tires. Snow chains may be our solution. I watched the tutorial video and it seems easy enough to put on and take off. We may practice it a few times before February gets here, when we actually get snow. They seem good quality, but won't be able to test it until the future.

These are going to stay in the spare wheel well area of my SUV to ensure I always have them if theneed arises. The chains are pretty solid, and, once you figure it out, the use of the tensioner is actually really nice compared to old style chains which could hang loosely from smaller tires. I like that it comes with gloves, although they’re a little insufficient for the depths of a cold Canadian winter. It’s great that everything comes in a relatively compact case, making it much easier to stash away when not needed. They’re a little pricier than I would have liked , but worth the overall peace of mind they provide.
Those snow chains come with a small carrying box that keeps them stored away when not needed, but those are super easy to install on my minivan with the auto tension device helping to get things tight. There's no snow to test it yet, but I am confident this will be helpful when I need it. I have had numerous occasions when I got stuck without chains, and it took me a lot of effort to dig myself out, and sometimes required another passerby vehicle to give it a pull. I think this definately would help the chances of unstuck, and is worth keeping in the car for winter driving.
In my last two vehicles I have had sets of tire-chains like these. One set I never needed and one set I did. If you have seen those videos of cars sliding down an icy hill, you can see why these are important. I got these for a new car I am driving. I will always have a set in my car in winter. These are one of those items its better to have and not need than need and not have. I test fit these to one wheel and the installation was fairly strait forward. The fit on my tires, using the size chart was good. I don't know how durable these will be for an extended period. They make seasonal tire chains, which these are not. If you want something that will be durable and last a season these are not the chains you want. These are more for an icy road situation where you need to get home. These do give good traction on icy roads, so they are worth having. These are not very heavy, they store away in the included case without using much trunk space. These are a good value for the price.

I got these to have on hand for Chevy Sonic that we recently acquired. They seems like they will do the job but also don't seem very heavy duty but I could be wrong. We shall see how they perform once the snow gets here.
I appreciate that these come with not just rubber lines gloves, but a healthy instruction manual, and some extra parts, as well as instructions for using them. I was a little bit worried about the plastic and rubber, but these actually just surround aircraft cable material, which means that the set itself should hold up for a pretty long time, and more than likely they will outlast the container that they come in, as that is the weakest link in this entire thing. That said, still a really good value for the money, very solid material, very well made chain, and should be good to use in a pinch and keep as an emergency storage item.
Comes in a nice carrying case. I haven’t been able to use them yet, but I like the fact that there’s a code on the case to scan to be directed to the instruction video. They definitely feel heavy enough.

I travel to the Rocky Mountains at least once a year to go skiing, and it's always a good idea to carry chains in case of heavy snow. While snow tires are fine and the clearance is usually pretty good on main roads, side roads (esp. mountain roads) can get pretty nasty. So, I am keeping these in the back of my van for emergency use. No one likes putting on chains, but these go on fairly well. Lay them down, and latch them up. These can be put on without having to move the vehicle. They are pretty easy and intuitive if you know what you are doing. However, this is just a set of 2. I mean, how many cars have only two wheels or require only two chains? Where I live, you need chains on all tires when instructed by officials. So, you'll need to buy two sets here, which makes them double the price. And, you can get a set of four where I live for the same price as these two. So, it's NOT GOOD VALUE here. I'm not happy with this product.
Right after I got this new snow chain, I tried to put it on my car. I’m glad I did because it was a different way to mount than my old chain. This way, I can get a feel for how these work. I’ve found that if I put a little wooden block under the tire, it’s much easier to mount this snow chain on. I was having a hard time reaching behind the wheel. The tire is just barely big enough because my tire size is near the top limit. The chain isn’t as thick as my old ones, so I hope it’ll last.
I ordered these to keep in my car for times when it's extremely icy outside or if I happen to get stuck. I use winter tires which generally work well but there are still times where the roads are so icy that you can't drive up an incline or might slide around a lot. These chains cost more than others I have looked at but what I appreciate about them is that you don't have to drive over them to install them. The tightening mechanism requires a few tries to get the installation steps down quickly (I would highly recommend practicing a few times instead of when you need them). They rattle around a bit in the case, and the case is made of plastic which I can imagine getting brittle in cold weather. Aside from the higher price and the case feeling a little cheap for what they are I think these are a great addition as part of emergency supplies in a car when driving around during the winter.
This set of two tire chains worked just as expected and gave great traction when I needed it. They were easy to put on and came in a sturdy plastic carrying case, which makes storage and transport super convenient. The case keeps everything organized and clean, which I really appreciate. Overall, a solid and practical purchase for winter driving peace of mind.
These snow chains are surprisingly easy to install and fit securely on my tires. The quick-fit design saved me a lot of time and frustration compared to traditional chains. They provide excellent traction on snowy and icy roads, giving me confidence during winter driving. The materials feel durable and built to last through multiple seasons. Having them in the car gives peace of mind for unexpected winter conditions.
These are a MUST HAVE for every car owner. These chains have a very aggressive cross pattern that is excellent for adding grip on steep icy driveways or slushy roads. They aren't meant to be driven on the roads, but they are well suited in emergency situations to help you get moving. They are fast to install and quick to remove, and they can be easily stored in the plastic carry case and kept in your trunk. Everyone should have a set of these in the Canadian winters. The price is worth it, even if you only use these rarely, as they give you a peace of mind that you won't get stuck. Saves me from having to wait for CAA to arrive when I cant get out of my driveway. Excellent product all around.
I've had previous experience using tire chains in very bad winter driving conditions at work that got me out of a bad spot. I've since tried to find snow chains for myself to use during emergencies, and have tried out 2 different ones so far, that I had to return as they were disappointing. There's definitely a big difference in the quality and features between these chains by AUVEBY compared to the other ones that I had bought and returned. Compared to the other slightly cheaper tire chains I tried before, these actually feel heavy duty, with heavier steel alloy materials. We haven't had much snow here so far where I am, so I was unable to put these to the real test on the snow and ice. I did put these on the tires, and it was really quick to do, with the \"auto tightening system\", it really does make it much easier and faster to put on versus having to tighten them up yourself. I will say, it did take me quite a bit longer than the advertised 1-minute, more like 5 minutes per tire - if you've put on snow chains on tires before, you know 5 minutes is still quite a decent time. If you're putting these on, that means its very likely pretty cold out, so every minute counts, and these do save you quite a bit of time. Overall, I think I finally found the right snow chains for my SUV. I used the XM140 size, and they fit my RAV4's 245/65r17 perfectly - these seem durable and heavy duty enough to actually be able to rely on in an emergency, and the auto tensioning system is just the cherry on top, that saves you time. These do cost slightly more than the other ones I end up returning, but this is one of those items that I've decided not to cheap out on. From my experience with these so far, they will most definitely do a pretty good job, getting you out of a jam. Into the trunk emergency kit they go, now that the winter is coming!
Please ignore the photo bombing cat. These snow chains are an absolute game-changer! Installation couldn’t be easier—it literally takes about a minute, and you don’t even have to move your car. The auto-fixing device is genius—just click it in place, and you’re ready to go. No messy rubber tighteners or mid-trip adjustments needed! They feel incredibly durable and secure, made from thick alloy manganese steel that grips perfectly on snow, ice, mud, and even sand. I immediately felt safer driving in slippery conditions, and the traction difference was huge. Cleanup is just as simple—a quick rinse and some sun drying, and they’re good as new. The storage box is a thoughtful touch, keeping everything neat and easy to store in the trunk. Overall, these snow chains are reliable, well-built, and effortless to use—perfect for anyone who wants peace of mind during winter driving. Highly recommend them for safety, convenience, and quality!
No snow to actually need these, but they were ok to install. Seem that it will provide good traction if I ever need it! The thing I didn't like, is the case ! It really cheap... I have another set that come with a really nice bag for it with a zipper... This is just a cheap plastic case that very thin. I'm surprised it didn't break during shipping.
PRO's: • Very well made tire chains. • Quick installation with easy to understand directions (practice before you need to use them though!). • Compact storage in a sturdy case. CON's: • The sizing chart is not all inclusive. You will need to know tire dimensions to confirm compatibility if your tire size is not included in the table. I took a chance as my tire dimensions were not in the table and it turns out the XM-140 is too small for my tires by about 2\" of diameter. The XM-140 will fit 27.7 - 30.0\" diameter tires, and I'm currently running 32.1\" diameter tires. (No star deductions as they do work exactly as intended.)

great Strength: Made with heavy-gauge materials and fully welded chain rings for maximum link integrity. Simple install: Includes clear instructions and an easy tight-and-lock mechanism. No Car Movement Required: Installation is effortless and fast
We live rurally on a winding and hilly two lane country road, plus our driveway has quite a bit of a slope. Members of my family have missed work multiple times during bad winter weather due to not being able to get a car out of our driveway even when the roads weren't that bad. These should take care of that issue for us. These seem to be good quality and durable chains. They are somewhat heavy for me but my husband is able to handle them just fine. It does take more than a minute to get them on the tires, but it was only maybe five minutes the first time. After a few times to get some practice he'll be able to cut it down to a minute. The tensioner is super handy because it automatically tightens the chains to a secure fit without having to make manual adjustments. They do make noise but it's not terribly loud. I like that they come with a pair of gloves that we'll keep stored with the chains so he doesn't have to hunt any down when using them. Good instructions are included plus you can scan the case to watch a tutorial video which is helpful. We will be storing these in our car but will be looking for a case that's a little more heavy duty than the one supplied. These are a fair value for the price, peace of mind, and functionality. I would order again.
I picked up these snow chains to keep in the back of my Nissan Pathfinder for winter emergencies. They are easy to install once you figure out the setup and feel solid with real metal construction. I haven’t had to use them in heavy snow yet, but they give peace of mind knowing they are ready if needed. The included carrying case keeps them organized in the trunk, and the auto tensioning system makes setup faster and simpler. Overall, a practical and reliable addition to any winter emergency kit.
These AUVEBY XM-140 snow chains snap on fast and give solid grip in snow, ice, or mud. You get a set of two chains made from manganese steel alloy. These fit a wide range of SUV and car tires. You have to match your tire size to get the correct fitting chains. The install is quick. Claimed one minute, and you don't need to move the vehicle. I found it took about a minute just to sort out the bundle of chains, then another minute or so to install them. Not too hard at all. You don't need to spend any time pulling or adjusting them, as they tighten themselves up as you drive. The storage box is pretty good too, to hold heavy chains, and to keep the dirty chains from making a mess in your truck too.
These tire chains are pretty nice. The compact plastic carrying case makes them easy to store in the trunk. They are handy for ice and packed snow. The welded metal links feel strong and don’t bend or loosen, and they’re straightforward to remove when you’re done. Now the set includes only two chains, not four, so you’ll need a second set for AWD or 4WD vehicles, and they are pricey for what they are. Normally tire chains are also bigger and thicker, so im worried about their durability. The plastic case is flimsy. Its worth noting these aren’t legal to use everywhere. They may damage non steel rims, and you should practice installation at home before you need them in an emergency, as there is a technique. Still, overall, I’m quite happy with these chains.
I picked up these Snow-Chains Auto Fixing tire chains as a backup for winter driving, and I’m really impressed! They fit my 2017 Toyota Sienna perfectly, which was my biggest concern before ordering. Installation really is quick—definitely faster and less frustrating than the old-school chains I’ve used in the past. They feel sturdy enough for emergency situations, and I like that they come as a set of two so I can keep them in the van all winter just in case. These would make a great practical Christmas gift for anyone who drives in snow. Hopefully I won’t need them often, but I feel way more prepared now!
Extremely easy snow chains to install on your wheels when needed. I love how fast it was to install them. The set comes with 2 and the case to carry/store them in. Very nice of you need the protection
I bought these snow tire chains as a backup for winter driving. This is the first time I'm using snow chain. The biggest win is the quick-fit design, it really does go on in about a minute per tire. No wrestling, no cold fingers for longer than necessary. I have not been able to use this snow chain yet. They do not full heavy-duty chains, but for emergency grip and peace of mind, they should be perfect. The universal fit worked well on my 245/60 R20 tires, and the build quality feels solid for occasional winter use. They also come packaged in a way that makes them portable and practical Christmas gift for anyone who drives in snowy areas. Overall, a great little safety add-on to keep in the trunk during winter months.
Haven't got to test these out yet as the snow hasn't quite fallen yet but I'm glad I can throw these in the back of the car knowing I'm prepared for my next trip to the mountains if the weather does take a turn. Case is quite flimsy and I'm sure won't hold up very well especially in the cold. Chains themselves though feel good and installed quite easy while following the instructions. Would definitely recommend.
These auto-fixing snow chains are a lifesaver in winter driving conditions. The quick-fit design makes installation incredibly easy—truly takes about a minute, even in cold weather. They grip well on icy and snowy roads, providing extra safety and stability. The build feels durable and dependable, and they pack away neatly when not in use. Perfect for anyone who wants peace of mind and hassle-free installation during winter travel.
These chains are super poor quality. I like that they come in a plastic case for storage and gloves to install. The quick tighten is good as well. The problem is these will not last at all and not much extra grip. I show them side by side with a set of Kimpex ones I ordered for my quad and they pale in comparison and look like toy links. Hard to believe both sets were the exact same price.

Haven't needed to use this on the road; I keep it in the vehicle as an emergency item. However, my first impression with having tried them on, just to make sure I don't have issues in an emergency, is that they were easy to put on and feel quite well made.
Doesn't fit my tires despite saying that it should.
Quick fit system is excellent, allowing for very fast installation in under a minute for emergency traction. These chains provide reliable safety and grip for passenger cars and SUVs in winter conditions.
Got these chains for my F-150. Was a tad concerned they may not fit but they're actually perfect. Super easy to install and I appreciate the carrying case for them. I keep them in my toolbox now to have whenever the weather gets bad.
Being prepared in the winter and having snow chains is becoming more and more crucial as we deal with unpredictable weather each year. These snow chains are literally a lifesaver during a winter storm, and can be easily installed in under five minutes without moving or lifting your vehicle. The auto-fixing device works cleverly by tightening the chains and keeping them secure and it truly makes these chains a click and go solution. The construction of the chains are solid, and are made from think alloy manganese steel which will give you that extra bite on packed snow and icy roads. It comes with a nice plastic storage box, and they are compact enough to keep in the trunk without taking up valuable cargo space. Overall, these snow chains are incredibly practical, durable and easy to use. If you want peace of mind driving in winter conditions where the pace is slow and steady, these are highly recommended.
Easy to install snow chains, after getting stuck one too many times on an icy hill near my place it was time to get these. The quick-fit system really does take about a minute once you get the hang of it, there's no crawling around in the snow or moving the car back and forth. They lock in pretty well and don’t loosen up, even after a drive through slush and packed snow. The grip feels pretty good and I noticed way less sliding when braking or turning with them on.

Tried one on (just to see if easy.) As advertised. Took me about 10 mins, but would take less now. I am pleased and i hope i never, ever, ever have to use them.
Being prepared in winter is more important than ever with increasingly unpredictable weather, and these snow chains can truly be a lifesaver during a storm. They install in under five minutes without needing to move or lift the vehicle. The auto-fixing mechanism tightens the chains securely, making them a simple click-and-go solution. Built from thick manganese alloy steel, they provide excellent grip on packed snow and icy roads. The included plastic storage box keeps them compact and easy to store in the trunk. Overall, these chains are practical, durable, and very easy to use—highly recommended for safe, steady winter driving.
Ordered these chains (hopefully not need to use them) just in case they are needed on our upcoming trip to California. They appear to be very well made. They come in a nice case that includes gloves!
The Snow-Chains Auto Fixing Quick Fit Tire Chains (XM-140) are an excellent solution for improving traction on snow or ice. The 1-minute quick-fit design is incredibly convenient—installation is fast and requires minimal effort, even in cold or challenging conditions. The chains are universally compatible with most passenger cars and SUVs, and the adjustable design ensures a snug, secure fit. Once installed, they provide excellent grip and stability, giving peace of mind during winter driving or emergency situations. The build quality feels solid and durable, with reinforced links designed to withstand repeated use without bending or breaking. They also store compactly in the included carrying case, making them easy to keep in the trunk for unexpected winter weather. These chains make a practical and thoughtful gift, especially for friends or family living in snowy regions. Whether you need them for daily commuting, a road trip, or emergency preparedness, they are dependable and straightforward to use. Overall, the Snow-Chains Auto Fixing Quick Fit Tire Chains are well-made, effective, and user-friendly, delivering safety and convenience when it’s needed most. A clear five-star product.
This set of tire chains is great for getting a vehicle out of a snow or ice situation that would otherwise leave the user stranded. I found that that these are NOT for travel extending more than a few minutes or 15 mph. The kit is enclosed in a round plastic carry case and includes two sets of chains, connector links, instructions and a very handy set of gloves. The gloves are noteworthy in that they are both waterproof, insulated and have a nice grippy coating. I have medium large hands with average sized fingers. I think for someone with long fingers, these gloves may be a challenging fit. In use, the learning curve was a bit steep and took over 20 minutes to understand how these fit around a tire. With practice, affixing these chains to each tire will take under two minutes. Do this practice before you need them in an emergency! There is no need to get under the vehicle or to roll the vehicle to obtain a good fit. The chains wrap around the tire, are affixed with an internal fitting and are self tensioned with a spring-loaded coil drawback mechanism (ie, push a button and it tightens automatically). I would not recommend driving any faster than 15mph, as mentioned earlier, due to a significant off balance condition that is imposed by the large blue spring take-up reel. These are also not meant for travel on black pavement due to the relatively thin metal that will wear quickly if over-used.

The size guide on the product description page is accurate and should be checked for accurate sizing for a vehicle. Two snow chains are adequate for a two wheel drive car, but they should be put on the front tires for a FWD car and the back tires for a RWD car. Installation is straightforward and directions are provided. There is a QR code to bring you to a video about how to install the chains properly. The chains have an auto adjusting tensioner so they don’t need to be adjusted manually. The magnesium steel links hold up to salt and moisture well. The alloy is more durable than just steel links. If you have an AWD car, it would work best to have two sets of chains for all four tires. These chains work well giving your car more traction in snowy weather. Icy weather is where tire chains can be really helpful providing traction. This is a good set of chains for those really bad storms. They will keep you safer providing more traction, especially in ice. They are a good value.
