So as of 19Dec2024 these chains get a five star for: packaging, ease of install/uninstall and customer support. It should be noted I installed these where I live in the desert but did not test them in the snow yet. The company did not have my tire compatability listed; LT285 60r20; stock tires on a 2022 2500 Ram Big Horn. Within 12 hours of me querying the company they advised that they had not tested this model yet on my tire size but would be interested to know compatibility as they believed they would work. I was surprised to see they fit easily on my truck and the self tightening device works well. Definitely a solid value compared to other manufacturers.

Instructions indicated they were the correct size for my 20" truck tire and I was able to get them on. With a lost of adjusting, pulling and tugging I was able to barely get the cable to hook in the last link. I think the quality is fine but am wondering if I should not have ordered the next size larger.

Super useful in wintertime

These are a pair of snow tire chains that are definitely super duper useful in the cold snowy winter. Keep in mind the package includes 2 chains, so if you need chains for all your wheels, then you will need to order multiple sets. This particular set fits tires between 255 and 285. We usually get quite a lot of snow starting in late fall. The roads are typically fine, but if you go off main roads or if you live/work in rural areas, then you need to be prepared. I bought this set and just threw it in the back of the car and forgot about it. That is until last week... I was out working super late and didn't realize we were getting snow. A lot of snow! By the time I finished and headed back, it was late, and not many people were out driving in my path. The roads were snowy, slippery, and bad. At some point, I got stuck and went to pick up my shovel, and that's when I saw I had these bad boys in my car. I installed them and got home safe and sound with no issues. Installation was relatively simple, but you see I hadn't even read the instructions until that night. So I did have to spend a bit of time in the cold reading and figuring out how to do it. But overall, it was easier than I expected. They have a very interesting system that retracts and pulls the chains to make it fit. As long as you follow the simple instructions, you should be good to go. I would suggest reading the instructions when you get them so that if you decide to install them if you're stuck (like I was), you will at least have some familiarity with the steps. The chain is heavy-duty. It's great. But it comes with a hard case as well which is even better. Since these chains are heavy, you may not want to leave them in the back of your truck without securing them properly as they will make noise and may scratch or damage anything you may have there next to them. So the fact that the case is also a heavy-duty case but a slim one that doesn't take much space is great. Overall, it does what it needs to do and does it well. Especially with the traction system, you don't really have to adjust the chain to fit your tires. Also, because of that, you can easily use them with different-sized tires (as long as they are within the size range). So, if you see yourself in a cold, snowy place, it's a good investment to have a pair or two.
